DESCRIPTION

Garden Muse with Horse By Manoon Tumsri

Manoon Tumsri is a Thai artist, born in 1943. He completed his early education locally in Prachinburi province and later pursued a five-year fine arts course at the Poh Chang College of Arts and Crafts in Bangkok, graduating around 1961.

Artistic Mediums & Style: Tumsri often works in mixed media on board, sometimes using masonite—a smooth, durable surface—where he draws and carves using fine tools like small needles.  His subjects frequently draw from themes deeply rooted in Thai tradition: scenes inspired by Buddhism (including Buddha figures and bodhisattvas), Siamese cats, and floating market.
